One of my photos I took while teaching near Yangshuo, China for the Buckland International Education Group was selected for an exhibition in Switzerland at the Musée de l'Elysée in Lucern.

beer and geocaching
Charl and I went into town. We first tried the beer tasters at the Red Oak pub in the city. These are pricey, but worth it. You get 4 or 5 beer tasters with a associated food item, all of the best quality. After that we did some fairly unsuccessful caching. Generally too many people and caches we could not find.

Borderlands
After staying in Bungendore, we traveled back to Canberra. On the way we stopped at the NSW - ACT border and I laid my hat on the easterly most point in the ACT.
PublishThere is no water in the fountain at Parliament House because of the sage 3 water restrictions.
and did some caching by the shores of Lake Burley Griffin

No rooms in Canberra
We showed up in Canberra, and the accommodation was full. They said it was because of the Canberra Show. So we tried on the other side of the lake, no luck, so we tried in Queanbeyan, no luck and in the end ended up in Bungendore at this lovely little B&B.
On the way there we did some caches around Lake George.

Crommelin's Pearl
In the hills behind Pearl Beach is a cache called Crommelin's Pearl. It is in the Crommelin Native Arboretum, a nice little place. We were to early for the opera performance (by days).
After this we visited another cache on Mt Ettalong, with views over Pearl Beach.
Further down the road in Patonga is another cache with a great view

An unexpected find
While visiting a cache, I drove past the Auburn Botanic Gardens. This was an unexpected find and there are some nice spots in the gardens. It was strange to be in an very Australian style Japanese Garden, frequented by Chinese and Muslims. That's Auburn for you.
Photo Shoot
Well I did my first ever photo shoot at Homebush Bay after a good lunch at the Cucina Viscontini, an Italian restaurant. I think I have a fair way to go, photography wise. I still use my own style rather than the prescribed ones. You can see this from the photos.

Peat's Ridge Festival Photo Competition
A while back I went to the Peat's Ridge Festival. After the festival, I entered a few photos into their photo competition. One of the photos is now on their web site.

Geocaching
Well, I have found that a good way to break up the long drive to Melbourne (900 odd km and more than 10 hours) is to stop and so some caching. I ended up visiting the town of Benalla, but unfortunately I was there too soon for the best place for a hamburger (at least 30 years ago) to be open. Maybe next time.

Family History
A little note on the family tree. I have not worked on it for some time. My plan is to work on it again. But I am waiting until the Leopard version of the Mac operating system comes out. The reason, I used a PC program and I gave my last PC to my mother last weekend. I have not used it for some time. I have installed Microsoft Windows on my mac, but I have to reboot to use it. Unfortunately all my mail is under mac osx. I plan to run some virtualisation software, but do not want to buy it until the new version of the OS comes out so that I do not have to then purchase an upgrade. The new version is due out "soon". So my plan to restart in February has been delayed. Also, I have only just caught up on all the photos taken while in china. I have not uploaded them all, but I have finished processing them.
